Arbutus Tree

This is a painting I am doing for Camerons mom as a thank you for buying my wedding dress for me. :D I am not completely finished. I need to fix the grass a bit and the trees. Any pointers on what else I could fix?

  1. Looks good, love the motion inherent in the trees. The only adjustment I would do is I would lighten the distant mountains more, a lighter grey/blue this will give you more depth also. But you have done a really great job on this painting, love the warm colors in the foreground vs the cools in the distance. Thumbs up!

  2. Another suggestion when you lighten the distant mountains, smooth the edges of them also they are too hard for that far away. Use your brush to soften the edges or your finger.

  3. This is a wonderful painting! Very lovely, I like the detail of the tree and the atmosphere of the distant background. I would work the contact between the water and land...that little curve...something doesn't read right to me, maybe the curve needs to come around at a different angle? and maybe add more detail or color to the foreground piece....that's all. Really nice! Kudos~Linda
